CARVED WOOD BOX

A box made using reclaimed Burma teak wood and standard mitered 45° cuts.

Through my time working very closely with carpenters and woodworkers, I was really curious to see how wood is carved and this box is a result of that curiosity where I tried my hand at carving wood. The idea then lent itself to how one carve can hide the seam making the box look seamless from every angle.

Finished with beeswax.

RECLAIMED WOOD LIGHT

A pair of wood lights made using reclaimed Burma teak wood using classic lathe machine operations such as turning, drilling, etc.

Finished using almond oil.

MITRED DESK ORGANISER

A desk organiser constructed with 30° mitered joints made using reclaimed Burma Teak Wood.

The concept was based on observations of plywood being cut in our workshop and the end pieces and offcuts that were left behind.

With that in mind, the central portion of the organizer was made using one 3” thick plank of wood split into two, the legs from one single piece of wood cut into two right-angled triangles with the hypotenuse supporting the planks and the partition was the piece that was left behind after cutting the legs.

Finished using almond oil.

RING HOLDERS

A simple object made for gifting to all the women in my life for Women’s Day using reclaimed Burma Teak wood on a lathe machine with a brass coin at its base to give it a contemporary feel.

Finished using almond oil.
